Several major banks make it possible to combine points across multiple cardholder accounts. This is a huge benefit to get the most out of your points! For example, Chase allows you to combine points from no-annual-fee "cash back" cards like the Chase Freedom Flex® and Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card with transferrable points cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. By doing this, you can take advantage of huge welcome offers - without paying an additional annual fee!

American Express Membership Rewards®
AMEX® does not allow combining of points across separate cardholder accounts. However, if you are the primary cardholder on multiple AMEX cards - whether personal or business cards - all of the points earned from those cards will be deposited into your account. Points earned by authorized users are also deposited into the primary cardholder's account.
AMEX allows you to transfer points to an airline or hotel card in the name of the primary cardholder or an authorized user. This effectively allows you to combine points across accounts. For example, if Player 1 holds The Platinum Card® from American Express and Player 2 holds The American Express Gold Card® with Player 1 as an authorized user on that card, points from the Platinum card and Gold card can be transferred into an airline account in Player 1's name.
Note: there is a 90 day waiting period from the time an authorized user is added until points can be transferred into that user's airline account.
Capital One Venture Miles
Capital One Miles can be combined between transferrable points accounts (Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Spark Miles for Business) and also Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card accounts (1% cash back = 1 point). This is extremely helpful since Capital One miles can only be transferred to airline/hotel programs in the name of the primary cardholder.
Option A: Combine miles across your own accounts.
Step 1: Login to your Capital One account and click the "Rewards Miles" balance
Step 2: Select the "Move Rewards" option
Step 3: Select the account from the drop-down list of accounts and input the number of miles to transfer. The miles will be instantly available in the account after submitting.
Option B: Share miles with other cardholders
You can transfer Capital One miles with anyone with a credit card that earns Venture Miles or Spark Miles. They don't have to live in the same "household" or be a family member. To do this, simply call Capital One (use the number on the back of your card) and provide the account information of the person you want to transfer the points to.
Capital One miles are extremely flexible, and this is why we recommend the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card as one of the best beginner cards - especially when you can combine the everyday spend earnings with a card like the Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card.
Chase Ultimate Rewards®
Chase allows you to combine points across your accounts and also with one other "household member" (officially, someone that lives at the same address). Points can be combined between transferrable points cards (i.e. Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card), cash back cards (i.e. Chase Freedom Unlimited® or Chase Freedom Flex®), and even cash back business cards (i.e. Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card or Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card).
Option A: Combine points across your own accounts.
Step 1: Login to your Chase account and click the "Rewards" section
Step 2: Click the "Earn/Use" dropdown menu and "Combine Points"
Step 3: Select the card you'd like to move points from (typically the "cash back" card) and the card you'd like to transfer points to (the transferrable points card).
Step 4: Select the number of points and submit. The points will be instantly available in the selected account.
Option B: Combine points with a household member.
The first time you want to transfer points to another household member, you'll need to call the number on the back of your Chase card. It might take going through a few customer service representatives to get to one understanding what you're wanting to do. You will need to provide the name and card number of the account you're transferring to. After it is setup the first time, you can combine points following the above steps in Option A.
The ability to combine points across Chase cards and turn those "cash back" points into transferrable points is a HUGE benefit - especially considering that no-annual-fee business cards often have large welcome offers of at least 75,000 points.

Citi ThankYou® Rewards
Citi allows you to combine points across your own accounts and with other cardmembers, though there are some restrictions to be aware of:
Points transferred from one of your card accounts will expire in 60 days if you close down that card account
The maximum amount of points you can transfer in one calendar year is 100,000. This is also the maximum amount of points a cardmember can receive in a calendar year.
Shared points expire after 90 days (so don't share until you're ready to redeem!) and shared points can't then be shared again with a different cardmember or returned to the original cardmember.
Option A: Combine points across your own accounts.
Step 1: Login to your Citi account and select the dropdown menu with your name and points balance. Select the "My Citi Accounts" option.
Step 2: Click "Combine My Accounts"
Step 3: Follow the steps to combine your ThankYou accounts under one login.
Option B: Share Citi points with another member.
Step 1: Login to ThankYou.com and select the "More Ways to Redeem" option.
Step 2: Select "Points Sharing"
Step 3: Review the amount of points you have available to transfer and click "Begin Sharing"
Step 4: Input the amount of points you'd like to transfer.
Step 5: Add the recipient's name and account number then submit the transfer.
Since ThankYou points can only be transferred to an airline/hotel account in the name of the primary cardholder, sharing points is especially helpful if you and a friend or family member both have Citi cards that earn a ton of points on everyday spending - like the Citi Strata Premier and Citi Custom Cash.
